However, such castings are not resistant to corrosion by alkali, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and high fat.

The general composition of acid resistant castable are: acid-resistant refractory aggregate (60-70%), powder (30-40%), and sodium fluorosilicate (13%-16%) as the hardening agent.
